Ansty’s under-14 colt Ali Chisholm struck a second successive half-century in the Stoner League with 82 against Palmers II. His innings included 10 fours and 2 sixes as Ansty III were dismissed for 173, just short of full batting points. Chisholm and another colt Rory Dormer, who fell just short of a maiden half-century himself when he was bowled on 49, helped Ansty recover from 24 for 2 by putting on 116 for the third wicket. For Palmers, David Bance took 7 for 42 as Ansty lost their last eight wickets for 33 runs. The visitors were 7 for 1 in reply when rain forced the match to be abandoned.
