Toss: Won by Ansty III
Ansty III scored 242 for 4 declared at home to Lingfield & Newchapel III having decided to bat after winning the toss. Skipper David Young top scored with 89, featuring in a 91-run opening partnership with Chris Barnes (35). James Abbott (20) helped his skipper put on 62 for the third wicket. Simon Parsons threw his bat to strike 52 off just 19 balls, putting on 66 with young colt Harry Towler (16no) in the final six overs. For Lingfield, Chris Eakins and Ian Driscoll claimed two wickets apiece. In reply, Ansty’s young bowling attack kept it tight with Eakins hitting 31 and Peter Batty 43 the only visiting batsmen to reach double figures. Callum Brown took 2 for 20 for Ansty, but it was the introduction of their two young spinners, u13 colt Harry Towler (3 for 17) and Ben Langridge (3 for 43) that clinched a 95-run victory, bowling out Lingfield for 147.
