Saturday, 5th May BURGESS HILL III v ANSTY III Sally Miller Trophy 1st Round (at Belmont Close, Hassocks) Toss: Ansty III Ansty III progressed into the second round of the Sally Miller Trophy with a comfortable 80-run win over their hosts Burgess Hill III at Hassocks. Ansty’s opener, 15-year-old Jonathan Young, scored 55 and Paul Mountain struck a swift 25 as the visitors posted 163 all out. Andrew Davies took 4 for 35 for the hosts with young Callum Cannon mopping up the tail with 3 for 9. Ansty’s last pair, Rory Dormer (16no) and skipper Peter Fowles (13) added a vital 23 for the last wicket. In reply, Michael Lawrie (2 for 12) took two early wickets to put Burgess Hill under pressure before three wickets apiece for James Abbott (3 for 24) and Jack Anderson (3 for 5) ripped through the remaining batting order to dismiss the home side for 83.
