ANSTY II v ARUNDEL II
Sussex Invitation 2nd League Division Two
(at " The Poplars" )

Toss: Won by Arundel II

Ansty II had colt Chris Barnes to thank for their 188 all out at home to league leaders Arundel II. Barnes top scored with a league best 83 (10 fours and 1 six), but became one of Ian Jays’ six victims as he took 6 for 44. Tom Freeman and David Hawke scored 25 apiece and James Wright made 21. In reply, Steve Mullen scored 92no to lead Arundel to a five-wicket victory, but it was gained with just one ball to spare as tight bowling restricted the run chase. Rich Diplock scored 33 in an opening stand of 75 and Mark Barry hit 31. For Ansty, debutant Chris Hatfield took 1 for 27 and there were wickets also for Jonathan Young, Josh Menzies, James Wright and Callum Brown.
