Saturday, 14th July ANSTY II v IFIELD II Sussex Invitation 2nd League Division Two (at " The Poplars" ) Toss: Won by Ansty II Ansty II, fielding six colts, gained a creditable draw at home to Ifield II after being set a target of 225 to win. Rohit Shah hit 69 and skipper Anthony Wise made 33 as Ifield declared on 224 for 7. Tom Freeman was Ansty’s most successful bowler with 3 for 62. In reply, Colts Jonathan Young (46) and Chris Barnes (25) put on 70 for the second wicket after losing their opener Joe Hallam in the first over. Duckhouse (3 for 31) and Clarke (2 for 20) gave Ifield hope of victory as wickets fell regularly, however a stubborn 23 from another colt Jethro Menzies and 21 from David Hawke clinched the draw as Ansty closed on 157 for 8.
