Saturday, 11th August ANSTY II v EAST PRESTON II Sussex Invitation 2nd League Division Two (at " The Poplars" ) Toss: East Preston II Second-from-bottom Ansty II were frustrated by East Preston II as they held out for a draw after never really going after the target the home side had set for them. Ansty had posted 242 for 9 declared, with Euan Menzies leading the way in scoring 56 which included 8 fours and a six. He received excellent support from Jonathan Young (43), Alex Pearce (41), James Wright (22) and Chris Barnes (19). For the visitors, Steve Laker took 5 for 40. A combination of good bowling and fielding denied East Preston early on which put them well behind the run-rate required. James Wright (3 for 25) had most success with the ball and there was a rare wicket for David Hawke, but East Preston closed on 156 for 5 with Graham Laker (56) and Keith Chamberlin (32) top scoring.
