Toss: Won by Crawley Eagles
A wonderful opening bowling spell by Ansty’s Neil Machin (2 for 31), Shaun Janman (2 for 22) and two wickets from Simon Parsons reduced last season’s champions Crawley Eagles to 48 for 6 on their home turf, but a partnership of 77 for the seventh wicket by Rashid (68) and skipper Shahid (31) rescued Eagles. They were eventually all out for 147 with Parsons (3 for 23) and Barry Crouch (2 for 15) also among the wickets. The tricky wicket caused Ansty problems in their reply with wickets falling regularly. Darren Senadhira (26) looked set for a bigger score before a needless run-out and Parsons scored 42 to help lead the visitors towards victory, but Fahim (6 for 64) and Fallah (3 for 43) shared the wickets as Ansty finished on132 all out, just 15 runs behind.
