Saturday, 2nd June BROADWATER v ANSTY Sussex Invitation League Division 1 (at " Broadwater Green" ) Toss: Won by Broadwater Ansty got off to the worst possible starts at Broadwater, losing both openers for ducks in the first seven balls, but a superb batting performance from young Ross Chisholm, who scored a maiden senior league 50, and 42 from Darren Senadhira brought about a recovery. Simon Parsons hit 26 and Jamie Newsome, Paul Osborn and Andy Hadfield each hit 18 as Ansty were dismissed on 184 on the final delivery. Gareth Bunday finished with 4 for 43. In reply, home skipper Mark Sinsbury blasted a brisk 27 off just 14 balls, but no other Broadwater batsmen could cope with the Ansty bowling accuracy of skipper Shaun Janman (5 for 45) and Simon Parsons (5 for 55). Broadwater were dismissed for 115, a defeat by 69 runs, which would have been far greater but for a cameo knock from Mark Gretton, who hit 5 sixes in his 47.
