Saturday, 5th May ALDWICK v ANSTY II Friendly (at Felpham Recreation Ground) Toss: Aldwick II Ansty II travelled down to Felpham for a 40-over friendly at Aldwick. The home side won the toss and put in their visitors who made a modest 166 for 6 by tea. An unbeaten partnership of 78 for the seventh wicket helped Ansty recover from 88 for 6. Henry Fowler (49no) and Josh Menzies (33no) led Ansty to respectability after Young had taken 4 for 33 for the home side. Leo Anderson made a steady 33 for Ansty earlier on in the innings. In reply, Aldwick struggled to come to terms with Josh Menzies’ opening spell as they slumped to 45 for 5. Menzies finished with figures of 4 for 22 off just 5.5 overs as Aldwick were dismissed for 108. His father, Euan, held onto two good catches in the field. Only Jefferies offered any resistance with 27 as Tom Freeman (3 for 8) and Fowler (2 for 30) clinched the 58-run victory.
