Sunday, 26th August ANSTY v KEYMER & HASSOCKS 40-over Friendly (at " The Poplars" , Ansty) Ansty defeated Keymer & Hassocks in a 40-over friendly at The Poplars by 41 runs. The home side batted first and made 198 for 9 off their allotted overs with colt Leo Anderson leading the way with 71. He received support by Dan Belfort (31) and colt Jonathan Young (38). Ansty were 184 for 4 before losing five wickets for just 14 runs in the final four overs in a bid to push the score along. Will Burgess, Nathan Cooper and Andy Westgate took two wickets apiece. In the reply, Keymer’s score of 157 for 8 owed a lot to Cooper’s unbeaten 100, who dominated his side’s innings. Alex Brakell (16) was Keymer’s only other player to reach double figures. Two wickets apiece for Ansty skipper Neil Machin, Michael Lawrey, James Wright and Jonathan Young clinched victory.
