Sunday, 2nd September CLARENDON SPARTANS v ANSTY Friendly Toss: Won by Clarendon Spartans Ansty were in big-hitting form when they scored a massive 306 for 5 at Clarendon Spartans with Simon Parsons hitting 100no in just 51 balls, which included 14 fours and 5 sixes. He put on 151 for the fifth wicket with Daniel Belfort, who was most unfortunate to be adjudged leg before having made 99 in just 83 balls (18 fours 1 six). Earlier colt Chris Barnes had struck 60. Spartans’ Williams was their most successful bowler with 3 for 46. In reply, the home side also went for the big hits, but Henry Fowler ripped through the early order to take 5 for 54. Only Gordon Costick offered any hope to Clarendon with a swift 43, but two wickets apiece for colt Jon Young and Pritesh Patel reduced the home side to 86 all out, a loss by 220 runs.
