ANSTY V PULBOROUGH
Identilam U16 League

Toss: Won by Ansty
Ansty welcomed Pulborough to The Poplars, Ansty in the Identilam under 16 League. The pitch was already wet when there were a number of rain showers adding to the problem. Pulborough batted first during difficult conditions for the Ansty bowlers. The early Pulborough batsmen made good scores with Self 25, Lawes 28 and Welch 26 all retired placing Pulborough in a good position with 77 runs off 12 overs. The scoring rate slowed and there were wickets for Jack Anderson, James Pearce and Ben Langridge and Pulborough were restricted to 100 runs after 20 overs.
Ansty set about the target with relish with Chris Barnes 27 retired, and Paul Mountain 20, each scoring a six. This was followed by Ben Langridge 14 and James Wright 21 setting up the victory for Tom Handley 8, Leo Anderson 3 (no) and Jack Anderson 1 (no) to take Ansty to victory with a total of 101 for 4. Pulborough wicket takers were Lawes, West and Halford and a run out by Bennett. The match was played in good spirit and proved entertaining for all concerned despite the damp conditions at the start.
