Thursday 14th May 2007 Ansty v Portslade U16 SAYCL League (at The Poplars) Toss: won by Ansty Having decided to bat first Ansty got off to a slow start before Jonathan Young (27 no) hit three fours in a single over. Upon his retiral Rory Dormer (26 retired) and Chris Barnes (26 retired) kept the score ticking over without ever cutting loose. The lower order then scrambled some late runs in the last few overs to bring the final score to 101 for 7. Pick of the Portslade bowlers was Victor Carton (3-13). In reply the Ansty bowlers gifted the opposition batsmen regular wides and no balls to keep the run rate under control, and with Gray (20) batting well Portslade were well on top.
