Toss: Won by Cuckfield
Ansty and Cuckfield clashed on a murky Tuesday evening in the first round of the ECB under 15 Cup. Cuckfield, batting first, got off to a good start with openers, Jack Denyer and Billy Melborough-Collinson, racing to 20 off the first three overs before the latter fell to a good catch by Chris Barnes off Alex Borley. Thereafter, Cuckfield found runs harder to come by and eventually totalled 55 with Denyer top scoring on 18. Ansty started their reply cautiously in the face of fast and accurate bowling from Chris Taylor and Joe Morrison but eventually Barnes (20 not out) and Jethro Menzies (14 not out) saw them home with five overs to spare and seven wickets in hand.
