On paper this looked like a crunch match between two strong teams, unfortunately on the day Horsham could only field an under-strength team who were to be no match for Ansty. Batting first Jonny Crickmore carried on where he left off last year with a chanceless 26 retired. Alex Borely (26 retired) and Jethro Menzies (14) contributed some strong shots though it would be fair to say that the visitors looked a bit rusty as they staggered their way to a final total of 132 for 7. An aggressive, if at times wayward, spell of fast bowling by Menzies (1-14), Borley (1-3) and Ali Chisholm (2-10) reduced Horsham to 40-4 after eight overs in reply. Some smart fielding and catching helped remove the remaining batsmen with wickets for Sam Windham, Nick Smith, Ravi Desai and Will Bennett, the latter taking the last two wickets for no runs in the four balls that he bowled.
