Ansty vs West Chiltington
U14 Identilam (South) League
(at Ansty)
Toss: Won by Barns Green.
Ansty recorded a comfortable win at the expense of West Chiltington. Batting first, Ansty lost a quick wicket in the first over, but then Tom Coombs and Alex Borley put on 49 for the second wicket in 7 overs. Tom was out for 19 and Alex retired on 27 but the runs continued to flow with the 100 coming up in the 14th over. William Bennett retired on 26 and the innings closed on 137 for 5. When West Chiltington went into bat they quickly lost 2 wickets and were on 16 for 3 before they managed to put together a stand of 48 for the fourth wicket. After that the wickets continued to fall and with the score on 92 for 6 at the beginning of the last over, they lost a further 2 wickets too run-outs the second of these being a superb throw in by James Dowell and finished on 92 for 9.
Wickets were spread out amongst the Ansty bowlers but notable were the three wickets for spinner Nick Smith finishing with 3 for 10.
