Toss: Won by Ansty
Having won the toss Ansty had no hesitation in choosing to bat first on a hard dry wicket, in a very cold wind. A really strong start saw the first four batters all retire on the (25) rule. Tom Coombs with 25, Nick Smith with 25, Alex Borley with 28 and Will Sayers with 28.The first wicket did not fall until 123 in the 13th over. A further batsman, Jethro Menzies retired with 26. The 2nd wicket went down at 175 in the 19th over. The innings finished on 187 for 2. Trinity made a fast start with 23 in the first 2 overs. Then a at regular intervals wickets fell with the highlight being the diving catch taken by James Dowell of Ravi Desai’s bowling. Trinity finished on 129 for 8 at the end of their 20 overs. The most successful spells coming from Nick Smith, finishing with 2 for 13 and Jethro Menzies with 1 for 5.
