Barns Green vs Ansty

Toss won by Barns Green
Ansty recorded a comfortable win at Barns Green. Batting first, Ansty made a rapid start with a succession of early boundaries setting the tone for the innings. First out was William Bennett for 23 with the score at 35 in just the third over but Sam Windham and Alex Borley kept the early momentum going. A clatter of wickets however in mid innings suggested Ansty would not post the score their early momentum had threatened but Will Sayer (24), Jonny Lea (21) and Michael Burke (28 Not out) all batted well to retrieve the situation and took Ansty to a formidable 140-9 off their 20 overs. Barns Green’s best bowler was Josh Panesar, the nephew (apparently) of Monty.
When Barns Green replied, Alex Borley took two quick wickets and the home side never really recovered. Wickets were spread out amongst the Ansty bowlers but notable were the two wickets for leg spinner Sam Hall of the U12s.
