Wed 6th Wed 13th June 2007 St Matthias v Ansty U13 SAYCL League (At Ansty) Toss won by Ansty Ansty won the toss & chose to field first. Another fine team performance which saw Ansty defeat St Matthias convincingly. Ansty’s bowlers started well with openers Alex Bennett (2wkts) & Ed Coombs (1wkt) both taking wickets. Will Wright (2wkts) & Jack Palser (1wkt) continued the fine good form, Wright taking a superb catch off his own bowling. However Ansty saved the best till last with Sam Gregory taking 4 wkts in 2.3overs to leave St Matthias on 64 all out. Ansty opener Sam Palser was determined to reach the target of 64 quickly & soon retired on 27 having hit 5 boundaries along the way. Ansty then lost 4 quick wickets but Jack Palser stopped the rot with a fine display of batting (helped I’m sure by some sibling rivalry) & soon notched up 25, hitting 2 superb 6s along the way, to win the match.
