Wednesday 20th June 2007 Lindfield v Ansty U12 North and Mid Sussex League (at Lindfield Common) Toss: Won by Ansty On a lovely summer evening Ansty travelled the short distance to Lindfield Common and won the toss in this local derby. Electing to bat brought captain Will Howes and James Whybrow to the crease where they remained for 15 overs putting on 65 for the first wicket scoring 14 and 22 respectively. Both then fell in the same over and it was left to a fine undefeated innings of 16 from Sam Hall to steer the visitors to a respectable 91 for 4 from their 20 overs. Will Duncan bagged 2 for 19, Brother Jamie took 1 for 13 and also added a run out and captain Hugh Jones took two catches. Lindfield started quickly, reaching 31 without loss after 4 overs but then lost both openers, Tom Clark (14) and Hugh Jones (10), to fine run outs by Will Howes. Lindfield were always ahead of the run rate, aided by some wayward Ansty bowling, for whom Zameer (2-11) Sam Hall (1-18) and James Whybrow (1-12) were the wicket takers. Scott Pedley with 10 not out saw Lindfield home by four wickets with four overs to spare.
