Wednesday 13th June 2007 Ansty v Newick U12 North & Mid Sussex League (at Ansty)
Toss: Won by Ansty
Ansty won the toss yet again on Wednesday evening in this North and Mid Sussex League clash with Newick. Batting first they started well with the first wicket putting on 27 in 6 overs. Then came a collapse with 5 wickets falling for just 5 runs and from there it was an uphill struggle for the home side. Only James Whybrow (10) and Tom Hadfield (11) made double figures and Ansty were indebted to extras (38) which enabled them to post a total of 85 for 8 in their 20 overs. Duff and Adamson were the pick of the bowlers recording 2 for 14 and 2 for 7 respectively.
Newick openers Pollard and Crewe effectively put the game beyond Ansty with the former retiring on 26 and the latter carrying his bat with 17. Sam Hall (1 for 19) briefly gave Ansty hope taking the one wicket to fall but Duff steadied the ship and finished 23 not out. All in all a comprehensive victory for Newick by 9 wickets with 3.5 overs to spare.
