Toss: Won by Ansty
Tom Hadfield won the toss for Ansty and put the home team into bat but must have been ruing his decision when he and the other three fast bowlers, James Whybrow, Alex Bennett and Will Howes, went for nearly 7 an over. Mark Fischell, Tom Chambers and Dougie Glynne-Jones all retired having reached 25 and only leg spinner Sam Hall exercised any sort of control with fine figures of 1-14 from four overs. The only other Ansty success in the field came from a run out, a direct hit from Tom Hadfield.
Set 138 to win Ansty slumped to 29 -4 in the seventh over. Dougie Glynne-Jones did the main damage with 3 for 22 in his four overs and it was left to James Whybrow to hold the innings together before he retired on 28. Alex Bennett (11) was the only other player to reach double figures and Ansty eventually lost by 44 runs. A feature of both innings were the high number of extras, 68 out of a combined run total of 230.
