MIDDLETON II v ANSTY II
Sussex Invitation 2nd XI League Division 1
(at Middleton Sports Club)
Toss: Won by Ansty II

Middleton II’s Nigel Quinlan had Ansty II in all sorts of trouble when he was introduced in the 21st over. The visitors had slowly made their way to 43 for 1, but his 8 for 31 off 10 overs had Ansty struggling to 112 all out, with four middle-order batsmen dismissed without scoring. Only skipper David Hawke offered much resistance with 32, and number ten Henry Fowler hit 16 to give the visitors a couple of batting points. Tom Freeman (3 for 29) had Middleton II on 40 for 4 with an opening burst of 3 wickets, but Colin Johnson hit an unbeaten 42 to lead the home side home by 5 wickets.
