Saturday, 6th May FINDON II v ANSTY II Sussex Invitation 2nd XI League Division One (at " Long Furlong" ) Toss: Won by Ansty II Ansty 2nd XI were defeated by 52 runs against Findon II at Long Furlong. The game was delayed and interrupted through rain and Ansty were batting in the dark at 8.30 in the evening to save the game which they were unable to do. Findon declared after 41 overs on 150 for 5 at ten to six after rain and an injury to Ansty youngster Aiden Janman, which reduced the visiting side to 9 fielders due to a hospital visit, had delayed play. Christie top scored for the home side with an unbeaten 39, but Ansty youngster Henry Fowler took League best bowling figures of 4 for 37. In reply, Christie had Ansty in trouble with three early wickets, but Neil Machin (24), Paul Osborn (19) and Mick Nicholas (17) helped Ansty reach 98 for 9 (all out).
