Saturday, 24th June ANSTY v CRAWLEY EAGLES Sussex Invitation League Division 1 (at " The Poplars" ) Toss: Won by Crawley Eagles Ansty’s Richard Nichols scored his first League half-century of the season at home to second-placed Crawley Eagles, but his 51 was not enough to inspire his fellow batsmen as the home side were dismissed for 143. Nichols featured in an opening stand of 58, but the introduction of Fahim Ahmed had Ansty in trouble as they slumped to 79 for 5. Simon Parsons offered some hope for Ansty with a battling 30, but Fahim took 5 for 42 to give Eagles a modest target for victory. Atif Hussain and Tayab Mahmood put on 66 in just over ten overs before James Nutter responded with 3 for 28 to give the home side hope. Hussain made 42 and Mahmood hit 50 to lead Crawley Eagles to a 5-wicket win.
