Saturday, 19th August ARUNDEL v ANSTY Sussex Invitation League Division 1 (at Arundel) Toss:  Won by Arundel Ansty defeated Arundel by 47 runs to avoid relegation in their penultimate league game.  Arundel won the toss and put their visitors into bat.  Two early wickets fell but Richard Nichols (40) and young Leo Anderson (34) put on 44 for the third wicket.  James Thorpe, back from England under-15 duty, hit 23 and Paul Osborn chipped in with an unbeaten 35 as Ansty reached 185 for 8.  Arundel’s Rakesh Parmar took 3 for 45.  The home side replied cautiously, but wickets started to fall at regular intervals despite opener Alex Iles’ efforts, who batted for over two hours for his 46.   The introduction of Shaun Janman had Arundel in trouble as he took 6 for 37 to leave the home side all out for 138.
