ANSTY v PAGHAM
Sussex Invitation League Division 1
(at The Poplars)
Toss: Won by Ansty
Pagham recorded their second successive League victory at a wet Ansty ground in a bid to avoid relegation. Having been put in, the basement side struck 203 for six before declaring with David Galea hitting 91, with support from Kiwi Craig Primmer who hammered a swift 32 off just 17 balls. Shaun Janman took four wickets for Ansty. In reply, the hosts always looked in trouble despite a battling 26 from opener David Croydon, but once Primmer was introduced, there was only one outcome as Primmer took 5 for 37 to clinch a 78-run victory with just two balls remaining. Fifteen-year-old Jamie Newsome (21) batted stubbornly for an hour to keep his side in with a shout.
