PAGHAM v ANSTY
Sussex Invitation League Division 1
(at Nyetimber Lane)

Toss: Won by Pagham

Ansty defeated bottom-of-the-table Pagham by 4 wickets on an unpredictable track. Pagham had elected to bat and were soon in trouble with James Nutter taking 3 for 33. Will Ross chipped in with 36, but Simon Parsons (4 for 37) and Alex Janjua (2 for 34) had the hosts all out for 121, which would have been much less but for a cavalier innings by number eleven Sean Rutter who struck an unbeaten 26. The visitors had the worst possible start, losing Tom Benham in the first over without facing a ball. Paul Osborn (30) steadied the reply featuring in a 52-run partnership for the third wicket with Janjua. David Galea took 3 for 60, but Janjua (53) went on to score his maiden 1st XI League fifty to lead Ansty home.
