Ansty 2nd XI, fielding seven colts, held out for a draw on 67 for 8 after being reduced to 10 for 5 as a result of an opening spell by Hurstpierpoint’s Lawson (4 for 4). Skipper Brian Fletcher scored a dogged 16 for Ansty. Earlier, Hurst had posted 184 for 7 with K Probert hitting 47 and receiving support from C Naylor (31) and R Lawson (29). For Ansty, Fletcher took 3 for 12 and youngsters Micheal DiBella and Tommy Handley took two wickets apiece.
