Sunday, 14th May ANSTY v CROYDON ST ANDREWS 40-over Friendly (at " The Poplars" ) Ansty defeated Croydon St Andrews by 132 runs in a 40-over friendly at the Poplars. Tom Freeman (61no) and Tom Benham (53no) both scored half-centuries before retiring. Myles Machin (38) and Jon Hill (39) continued the scoring as Ansty reached 240 for 3. In reply, the Croydon side struggled to keep up with the run-rate in the face of tight bowling. The introduction of Peter Fowles saw about the visitors’ demise as he took 4 for 34 to help dismiss his opponents for 108. James Nutter and Phil Travis took two wickets apiece, whilst Clark (24) and LeFaye (20) offered the only resistance.
