Hassocks were defeated by Ansty in a 40-over friendly at The Poplars with just three overs to spare.  The visitors made 165 for 8 with Mark Wylam top scoring with 52.  Matt L’Estrange offered support with an unbeaten 28 and Andy Westgate hit 26.  For Ansty, skipper Tom Freeman took 3 for 24 whilst spinners Ben Coombs and Henry Fowler took two wickets apiece.  In reply, Ansty were reduced to 15 for 2 before Freeman and Jon Hill shared a partnership worth 89.  Hill fell for 25, but Freeman went on to score 81 and he eased his side towards a winning position.  Westgate and Wylam took two wickets apiece but could not save their side from a three-wicket defeat.
