Toss: Won by Keymer & Hassocks III
Bottom-of-the-League Keymer & Hassocks III had Ansty III in all sorts of trouble having put them in. Ansty were floundering on 44 for 5 having lost the talented James Thorpe for just 12. However, Ross Chisholm and Henry Fowler formed a superb sixth-wicket partnership of 124, a club record in the league, to stage a massive recovery and lead Ansty to 209 for 8 declared. Fourteen-year-old Chisholm hit a personal best 91 and fifteen-year-old Fowler scored a superb 61, also a personal best. For Keymer, Nigel Hartley took 4 for 43. In reply, the visitors had even a worst start than their hosts, collapsing to 24 for 5 with Alan Piolet taking 3 for 18. Keymer staged a mini-revival, with Scott Simkins (18) and Jimmy Elkins (18) leading the way, but settled for a draw on 106 for 9 with the last pair blocking out for 14 overs. Ian Poole made an unbeaten 18 whilst James Thorpe (2 for 9) and Joe Hallam (2 for 24) also took wickets for Ansty.
