Champions Ansty 2nd XI finished the season in fine style with a comprehensive 8-wicket victory over Southwick II. Ansty, who have collected a massive 415 points, thought to be a league record, with fourteen victories in sixteen matches, put their hosts in and dismissed them for just 57 with Shaun Janman (4 for 13), Jonathan Freeman (3 for 8) and Neil Machin (2 for 13) the main wicket-takers. Fieldwick was the only home player to make double figures with a battling 22. In reply, Richard Pike (23no), Paul Osborn (10) and 14-year-old Leo Anderson, making his debut, (11no) saw Ansty home in just 12.5 overs.
