ANSTY v BROADWATER
Sussex Invitation
League Division One
(at “The
Poplars”, Ansty)
Toss: Won by Broadwater
Broadwater’s overseas player Aussie Russell Bagley was the difference between the sides as his side defeated Division One newcomers Ansty by 6 wickets.   His class stood well above his team-mates and his opponents in scoring 90no to lead Broadwater to the target of 135.   The visitors won a crucial toss and inserted Ansty on a damp, but drying track.   Two wickets apiece for all of Broadwater’s bowlers used, including Bagley, dismissed the home side for 134, with Ansty’s Tasmanian Daniel Morgan top scoring with 29 and a cameo 27 from Darren Senadhira the only bright spots for Ansty.   Bagley even held onto five catches!   Broadwater were reduced to 39 for 3 before Bagley took over to win the match in his one-man show.
