ANSTY v SOUTHWICK
Sussex Invitation League Division One
(at " The Poplars" )

Toss: Won by Ansty

Ansty finished their first season in Division One in a commendable mid-table position after an 8-wicket thrashing of relegated Southwick.  Ansty put their visitors in and Barry Crouch and Simon Parsons had them at 6 for 3 and 40 for 5 and only Jim Downey's 21 helped them to total just 81 off 27.5 overs.  Crouch finished with 3 for 34 and Parsons took 6 for 32 to finish the League's top wicket-taker with 47 wickets.  Ansty did not concede a solitary " extra" in their 28 overs which was a superb feat in itself!  In reply, David Croydon (31) and Alex Janjua (44) led Ansty to 80 before falling to Russell Martin in successive deliveries.  Colt Ross Chisholm struck the winning boundary for Ansty.
