Toss: Won by Ifield
Second-from-bottom Ansty nearly caused an upset when they nearly defeated runaway leaders Ifield at The Poplars. Ansty had been put in by their visitors and after struggling to 42 for 3, Kristian Piolet was joined by Richard Nichols and the pair put on 122 for the fourth wicket, a league record at home. Nichols scored 9 fours and 4 sixes in his 71 and Piolet recorded a personal best 53 which included 9 fours. With Ansty throwing the bat to gain maximum batting points, Matt Robinson picked up cheap wickets to finish on 7 for 44 as the home side closed on 202 for 8. Chris Nutter hit a cameo 24 in the late flurry. In reply, Ansty's young bowler James Nutter had leaders Ifield in all sorts of trouble at 43 for 3, but Greg Barton battered 79 to give the visitors hope. Barton survived being bowled when he was on 49, when he stood his ground and both umpires were unable to give him out. Simon Parsons broke through the middle order to take 4 for 41 and James Nutter returned to complete figures of 4 for 22, but Ifield hung on for a draw at 174 for 9.
