Ansty continued their run of good form with a comprehensive 81-run victory at Broadwater. Having been put in on a tricky wicket, Ansty amassed 211 for 7 with Dan Morgan scoring a patient 52. Useful contributions also came through Kristian Piolet (34no), Tom Benham (28), Darren Senadhira (28) and Chris Nutter (26), who fell to a bizarre dismissal when the ball ricocheted of various parts of his anatomy before dislodging a bail. For Broadwater, Ian Timms (3 for 36) and Joe Owen (3 for 67) had most success with the ball. In their reply, the home side lost two early wickets to the impressive Simon Parsons, but when the talented Russell Bagley fell for 21 after a shrewd piece of captaincy by Ansty’ s Shaun Janman, Broadwater had little else to offer. Parsons finished with 5 for 30, his third " five for" in successive matches, and Janman wrapped up the tail with 4 for 14, which included a tremendous diving catch in the deep by David Croydon, dismissing Fitzroy Hodges, who hit an entertaining 40, which included a smashed windscreen for his skipper’ s car. Broadwater ended on 130 all out.
