Stoner Mid-Sussex League Sally Miller Trophy 1st Round Plumpton II v ANSTY III (at Plumpton College, 29/05/04) Ansty bowed out of the Sally Miller Trophy with a 73-run defeat at Plumpton. The home side made 175 for 7 in their allotted 40 overs, despite Paul Osborn’s 4 for 45 for the visitors. G Miller snr top scored with 49 with Peter Jones (28) and Steve Eason (30) also among the runs. In Ansty’s reply, they were always behind the run-rate. Gary and Simon Stevens took 2 wickets apiece with Earl also grabbing a couple as Ansty III were dismissed for 102. Fifteen-year-old Daniel Belfort top scored with 20, batting at number 10. Paul Osborn (18), Brian Fletcher and Alan Piolet (14 apiece) also made small contributions, whilst keeper Peter Jones kept busy with four dismissals, which included three stumpings.
