Stoner Mid-Sussex League Division Three
ANSTY III v Bolney (at St Francis, 14/08/04)
Ansty III were most unfortunate to lose to third-placed Bolney with just one ball and one wicket remaining.  Ansty had posted 169 for 8 with young Daniel Belfort scoring a maiden fifty with 55.  Neil Machin (31), Jonathan Freeman (26) and Aqeel Janjua (20no) also scored useful runs.  Steve Bowles was Bolney's most successful bowler with 3 for 62.  In reply, Alan Piolet (3 for 60) and Janjua (3 for 33) had the visitors losing frequent wickets, but Dean Hamilton hit 57 and Bowles made 36 to keep them in the hunt.  It was left to Fred Harrison to score the winning runs for Bolney, as one of the last pair at the crease, off the penultimate delivery of the match.
