Leaders Plumpton II had a comfortable 75-run
victory over Ansty III, who, with holiday absentees, fielded a side
that included seven colts, five of which are under-13s. Plumpton
declared on 175 for 7 with Rob Barter (49) and George Martin snr (30)
top scoring. Myles Machin (2 for 32) and Leo Anderson (2 for 16) were
most successful with the ball. In reply, Steve Eason (4 for 16) and
Simon Stevens (3 for 17) bowled out Ansty for 100. Thirteen-year-old
number ten Jack Anderson top scored with an unbeaten 22, with opener
Myles Machin hitting 16.
