Sussex Invitation League
Southwick II v ANSTY II (at Southwick Green, 29/05/04)
Toss: Ansty II
Richard Pike hit a superb 80 for Ansty II at
Southwick, but a good declaration of 184 for 8 was not achievable by
the home side. Brian Still (20no) made useful runs, despite
Fieldwick's 4 for 60 for the home side. The response was slow,
but "Wickers" made 50 for the opening partnership in 18
overs, but both openers fell in four balls with Dawson making
24. Ballard took the game to Ansty with a brisk 51, with
support from Wilkinson (25) but Tom Freeman (4 for 20), skipper Andy
Mott (3 for 18) and Rob Littlejohns (2 for 22) helped the home side
lose six wickets for just 2 runs in the last seven overs, but they
held on for a draw at 144 for 9.
