A much changed Ansty 2nd XI were well beaten at Billingshurst II by 145 runs. Having fielded throughout in the rain, the visiting side were no match chasing a massive 256 for 7 declared and were dismissed for 111. Smith was the architect in Billingshurst's huge score, making an unbeaten 117. Earlier, James Nutter had taken 3 for 41 and Neil Machin grabbed 2 for 47 as the home side reached 72 for 5, but the partnership between Newton, who made 60, and Smith put on 122 for the sixth wicket. Simon Finch (25), Darren Senadhira (22) and Richard Pike (19) offered some resistance as Ansty II replied, but Spivey ( 4 for 35) and C Sainsbury (3 for 16) clinched victory for the home side.
