Ansty II decided to bat first at Storrington, but the conditions favoured the home side especially opening bowler Massbery who bowled unchanged throughout to take 5 for 28 off 24.2 overs. Ansty were dismissed for just 109 with 3rd XI veteran Brian Fletcher top scoring with 23. Euan Menzies and Richard Pike (16 apiece) threatened but their innings never took off. The home side in their reply made the target in 34 overs with three wickets down. Oram top scored with 40 and Brian Still’s 2 for 18 ensured Ansty II went home with at least a bowling point.
