Sussex Invitation League Crawley Eagles v ANSTY (at Langley Green, 19/06/04) Simon Parsons took 7 for 54 for Ansty at Langley Green to dismiss promotion favourites Crawley Eagles for 146. His early spell had Eagles on 30 for 4, but Najjam hit 65 including 4 huge sixes to stage a recovery. Skipper Barry Crouch ended with 3 for 40 after a lively second spell. Despite losing an early wicket, Ansty looked favourites for victory as Chris Nutter and Tom Benham put on 53 for the second wicket, but after Nutter (28) and Benham (30) fell, the home bowlers got on top making run scoring on a difficult track very slow. Jared Rowe hit an unbeaten 27 and Simon Parsons scored a brisk cameo 22, but Ansty finished on 131 for 8 to end with a draw. Aamer, Shahid and Mausawar took two wickets apiece.
