Sussex Invitation League Crawley v ANSTY (at Maidenbower, 14/08/04) Ansty moved to joint top of the league with just two matches remaining after a fine 8-wicket victory at Crawley.  The visitors lost wicketkeeper Andy Hadfield to a broken thumb but the disruption never affected them as the home side were dismissed for 109 having elected to bat on an awkward track.  Crawley, who need points to avoid relegation, only had Prakash Podiratnam (26) and Paul Clifford (19no) making useful runs as Shaun Janman (4 for 37), Barry Crouch (3 for 22) and Simon Parsons (2 for 29) causing them problems.  In reply, the best policy for Ansty was to attack and they passed the target in just 18.1 overs with just two wickets down.  Richard Nichols survived two scares to finish unbeaten on 53, with support from Darren Senadhira (24no) and David Croydon (21).
