ANSTY v Crawley (at “The Poplars”, 12/06/04)
Toss: Won by Crawley
Ansty moved off the bottom of the League with an emphatic 7-wicket victory over Crawley. A superb bowling and fielding display by Ansty reduced Crawley to 156 all out. Only Pragash Podiratnam offered any resistance with 77 off just 79 balls. Shaun Janman (3 for 34), Simon Parsons (2 for 52) and debutant Rob Littlejohns (1 for 36) were the wicket-takers, but superb fielding by David Croydon, Alex Janjua, Littlejohns and Jared Rowe led to four run-outs. In reply, despite losing two early wickets, Ansty romped home with 14 overs to spare with skipper Richard Nichols making 58no, supported by Janjua's 35no and Croydon's 35.
