Clymping v ANSTY (at Clymping, 03/07/04)
Ansty picked up a valuable win at Clymping, claiming maximum points in a 135-run victory after scoring 223 for 5 declared. Skipper Richard Nichols made an unbeaten 108 and figured in an 80-run partnership with David Croydon (30) in just 13 overs. Chris Nutter (17) helped put on 58 for the second wicket and Paul Osborn chipped in with 15, but Simon Parsons blasted 31 not out in just 15 balls including two huge sixes, to put on an unbeaten 52 for the sixth wicket. Ansty declared their innings in the 41st over. Chris Green was Clymping's most successful bowler with 3 for 66. In reply, the home side lost both openers with the score on one and despite skipper Gareth Challen's 27 and Neil Peirce's 37, they were dismissed for 88. Shaun Janman, Simon Parsons and Barry Crouch took three wickets apiece.
